With the Holidays upon us and the New Year fast approaching, many people seek a good book for either advice or inspiration. I wanted to highlight some great books for Job seekers to fill their bookshelves with and get you focused and ready for 2014.
- What Color is My Parachute? 2014 edition: A Practical Manual for Job-Hunters and Career-Changers – The original book was not just a best seller, but a game-changer several years ago. And the concept is still holding strong for 2013 and the coming years. - Guerrilla Marketing for Job Hunters 3.0: – We mentioned this book for job seekers in a recent post (5 Resume Must-Haves) and definitely wanted to mention this again. This is a great book to inspire job seekers to take their search out of box.
- Job Searching with Social Media For Dummies was written by Joshua Waldman, a social media expert from CareerEnlightenment who’s written for popular entities like Forbes, Huffington Post, Mashable, and the International Business Times. This book came out this year is a great tool for those that need help maneuvering through the online social media minutia.
- The Power Formula for LinkedIn Success by “reformed LinkedIn skeptic, Wayne Breitbarth. We said it before. LinkedIn is not going away anytime soon. The better you understand it, the better you’ll be able to master it whether you’re a job seeker or employer recruiter. And what a better way than with a book that has received overwhelming feedback from Amazon reviewers.

- Headhunter’ Hiring Secrets: The Rules of the Hiring Game Have Changed . . . Forever! This is another book trending positively for the 2013 year. Written by author, Skip Freeman, it teaches job seekers how to understand the new rules of recruiting and get hired.
